A successful application to the Community Chest Fund of STAR Housing has enabled the Friends of Stanmore Country Park to purchase a flagpole, allowing the group to fly the Community Green Flag that they were awarded for the site last year.
Stanmore Country Park is an informal 40 acre green space, to the east of Bridgnorth, Shropshire, managed by Shropshire Council in partnership with the volunteer group Friends of Stanmore Country Park.
Dr Andy Howard, Chair of the Friends said that this grant allows the location of this site to be clearly identified from the local main roads and makes visitors aware that the park is a nationally recognised community asset that should be preserved and protected for the enjoyment of future generations.
Community Green Flag is an annual award, and whilst volunteer efforts are temporarily suspended during the COVID 19 pandemic, we are looking forward to renewing our conservation efforts as soon as possible to ensure continued success in future years.
